Wudang 5 Element Qigong

Course Summary

Balance the 5 internal energies in the body through a specific set of movements and internal focus.

Welcome

This 21-day Spark program is intended to help you understand, practice and learn this ancient art of Qigong (Chi Kung) and its principles. It will give you a systematic introduction to this very unique Daoist Wudang 5 Element (Animal) Qigong. (Wu Xing QiGong)

Qigong 氣功 translates as an art of cultivating Vital Energy through coordinated breathing, movement, and meditation. The word Qi 氣 means Vital Energy, Air, Atmosphere, Gas, Weather and the meaning goes even into being annoyed or angry, while the word Gong 功 literally means Achievement, Accomplishment, Work, Practice, Service.

This practice aims to rebalance the 5 internal energies in the body. Usually known as the Five Elements, Wu Xing is also named the Five Movements, Five Phrases or Five Steps. The 5 elements are jin (metal), mu (wood), shui (water), huo (fire), tu (earth). Chinese five elements in daily life were regarded as the foundation of everything in the universe. Fire melts metal; metal chops wood; wood breaks up earth; earth absorbs water; water quenches fire.

Each organ also correlates with a certain emotion that may be responsible for creating a blockage or obstruction to the energy flow in the body and thus impeding that organ's proper function or causing an issue in the body somewhere along the corresponding meridian.

5 ELEMENTS in Hermetic System

Why are the 5 Elements different in the eastern and the western systems?
The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses 5 elements for diagnostics of illnesses and correlates major and minor organs' functions to their 5 elements.
This sophisticated system has been around for millennia and seems to work really well.

The Hermetic teachings originated in ancient Greece by Hermes Trismegistus and are about the nature of reality,
the relationship between the mind and the material world, and the principles of change and balance.
These 5 Elements are Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Ether.

Fire - Need to CONTROL the environment (feeling empowered)
Air - Need to UNDERSTAND your environment & people (feeling openminded)
Water - Need for APPROVAL from people in your environment (feeling seen/witnessed/connected)
Earth - Need for SECURITY, material needs & wealth (feeling grounded)
Ether / Space / Quantum Field - Perception of ONENESS (feeling whole & complete)

In this Qigong course we use the principles from both systems in order to get more benefit from this practice.

About the Instructor

Born and raised in Slovakia, I left my family home at the age of 21 to learn English in the UK. Came to Colorado at the age of 26. Physical movement and martial arts were always so much fun for me and although I didn't learn easily or quickly, but once I understood the movement while deepening my focus, I was able to retain what I learned. I later noticed I really enjoyed explaining the movement I learned and decided to start teaching classes. I started teaching Kung Fu and Kickboxing in 2006 and incorporated Eclectic Ground in 2012. I spent a month in Wudang Kung Fu Academy in China where I studied Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chi Gong and later received a "Sifu" (Master) certificate from Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong after a few years of progressing through my Wing Chun Kung Fu studies under my Master Keith Worfel of Denver Wing Chun (late grandmaster Ip Ching lineage). I have also studied with a few other Tai Chi & Chi Kung masters (like master Adam Mizner or master Mark Rasmus) where I gained deeper insights into the internal power (Chi).

My long term goal is to create a community of individuals who are interested to learn to know themselves through internal energy practices, martial arts and its principles, through re-training the mind and healing the heart with self empowerment exercises, in order to help each individual to find their path and fulfill their dharma. This is a self-sustaining community, where we find common interest in keeping our bodies healthy as we age, our mind sharp and our heart open with compassion and gratitude. A community of individuals curious about life, how the world works and how we redefine this world or ourselves in it and create a new reality from place of curiosity, respect and love.
